Campers Experience Adventure And Fun throughout The Day At Forrestel
If you really want to know what summer camp life is like, just look at these smiles. We think they tell the story pretty well. Wherever you find our campers, you find smiling faces!
Campers Live in Tents
Girls live in large cabin-like tents. They are on wooden platforms which are off the ground. Most tents have 6 campers and 2 counselors (every tent has at least one camp counselor). The bathroom and showers are nearby.
Summer Weather
The average daytime temperature is between 75° & 80°; night-time is 60-65°. We Eat Good Food Food at camp is farm fresh and home cooked. Both lunch and dinner have salads and vegetables as well as plenty of meat, pasta, milk, juice and dessert (vegetarians don’t go hungry). Cold milk and fresh fruit are offered nightly as a pre-bedtime snack. Oh, and you haven’t lived until you try Mary’s homemade chicken pie.
Wake Up
The bell rings at 7:50 to wake the campers up for breakfast at 8 am. We provide a farm fresh, homemade breakfast everymorning!
First riding Lesson
At 9:30 the campers saddle up for their first riding clinic of the day.
Lunch & Rest Time
Lunch will be at 11:45 every day. Meals are cooked daily using farm fresh ingredients. After lunch the girls get a chance to hang out for rest hour at the camp site.
Swimming!
Everyday at 1:30 we take a hay wagon ride to the pond for an hour of swimming and some beach games!
Specialty Activity
Campers in Horsemanship 2 will be going to their second riding lesson of the day. All other programs will be either riding or choosing from a variety of specialty activities!
Dinner & Mail
At this time, Grant serves a delicious homemade dinner and campers will be able to open any letters or emails they might have recieved for the day.
Evening Activities
Every evening we like to get all the girls together for an after dinner activity. The activity varies by day and is always a great time!
Days End
We wrap up the day by giving campers time to shower and change. Then we all sit around the fire pit to sing camp songs, have an evening snack, and connect with all the other campers. Bed time is at 9:15 pm every night.
